DISCLAIMER:
(very important note for machined focus gears)
Our standard gears should fit out right out of the box in most cases, however Machined gears for these lenses will be too tight to install when cool. Machined gears must be heated in an oven for permanent installation. Forcing a tight gear onto your lens can cause expensive lens damage. If damage or injury occurs, FollowFocusGears LLC and associates are not responsible.
You must take great care when installing Machined gears yourself. Removing the gear once installed will be very difficult, although it can be done. Detailed heating instructions will be shipped with each Machined gear. If you are not comfortable with a DIY heat install, we provide free installation services if the lens is shipped to us. If you can not ship lens and are not comfortable heating machined gears for permanent install, our standard gears usually fit right out of the box and require little or no modification. Not all lenses are good candidates for Machined gears, so if you have any questions, don’t hesitate to ask.
